Best & Brightest

Tonight I had the distinct pleasure of being named one of the 35 Best & Brightest Under 35 by the Columbia Business Monthly Magazine. The award in itself is truly an honor but the evening meant so much more. For just a few brief hours, the event served as a great opportunity to 1) reflect on my civic responsibility to serve others, 2) get dolled up, relax and enjoy a great evening with my handsome hubby, family, and friends, 3) indulge a little time free of changing diapers, cleaning spit-up stains, house chores, and homework duty, 4) celebrate the accolades with my peers for my accomplishments and appreciation for my efforts in my career and philanthropy, and 5) renew my spirit and energy to give more, do more, and be more for my family, community, profession and myself.

Did I mention…date night with my handsome hubby?! It’s not too often that we have a sitter for both girls so we definitely took advantage of a little adult time out on the town. Puts me in the mind of the funny movie Date Night…without the drama and near death experiences of course.

We enjoyed a delicious date recap at our local dessert parlor Nonnah’s. We had our favorite apple praline alma mode…tasty!

Though the time with other adults discussing an array of topics over great heavy hors d’oeuvres and dating my hubby afterwards was amazing , I was happy to reunite with my girls at the end of a fun evening. My heart completely melted when my oldest said, “Mommy, I’m so proud of you. I just love you so much. You’re the best mommy ever!”

Wife and mom are two of my most cherished titles among them all. Thankful to receive this accomplishment but even more grateful to be the best I can for my family.

Congratulations to my fellow honorees. Click here to view the issue of the profiles.

Xoxo

PS- I enjoyed being dolled up in this look. 🙂
