Workcay- Part 1: Preparing for our trip to Salt Lake City, Utah

Trips that combine work and fun are always a great experience. In my family, we call them “workcations”. They are the perfect balance of work and vacation. Typically, the girls and I are tagging along for my husband’s work assignments. This time, he and the girls accompanied me to a professional conference of which I had the pleasure of serving as a presenter.

Preparing for our trip was quite painless. We packed light for our four day, four night excursion. Checking all of our bags and the car seat and using a chest carrier instead of the stroller made it very easy to navigate the airport. By the look of it, our two little love bugs are ready to go.

We booked a flight that had a 3 hour layover which allowed us to relax and enjoy family time between connectors. Most times, we find ourselves rushing from point A to B, zipping through the concourse to get to the terminal in time. This trip, we had more than enough time to take a stroll through the airport and it felt so great! Taking full advantage of the extra time, we enjoyed an absolutely delicious family dinner at PF Chang’s.

During our flight, we engaged in a few leisure activities. Alana colored her PJ Mask coloring pack and watched one of her favorite movies Moana, I read a few chapters of my current read Exponential Living, and my hubby played with our baby girl and watched a movie (it really watched him).

Towards the end of the trip, we thought twice about not bringing the stroller when we found it difficult to wake up Alana. Kobie didn’t mind carrying his princesses though. We made it safely and looking forward to our family adventures to begin in the morning in Salt Lake City, Utah! Check out parts 2 and 3 for our family fun stops.

Happy Exploring! Xoxo
