A Day in the Big Life of the Little Wife

Today was a day that fully embodied the theme of my blog, Little Wife Big Life! I mean it was literally non-stop the entire day which required me to operate in various roles and fulfill different responsibilities. The day went a little like this:

At 6am I began the day with prayer and bible reading. I then proceeded to get dressed and ready for the day while listening to my inspirational music.

At 7am the girls woke up and it was off to the races. It was time to get both girls up, dressed, fed and dropped-off at school by 8:30am.

After leaving the school, I returned home to eat my breakfast. For some reason, I rarely manage to eat while the girls are eating. I’m just fortunate enough that I had time to squeeze it in. I know it’s the most important meal of the day, but often times, I end up skipping it or grabbing something quick that I can eat on the go. Unfortunately, I’m usually so busy that I don’t even remember if I didn’t eat until it’s lunch time. I’m totally working on that.

Around 10:30AM, after returning emails and phone calls, I proceeded to run errands and pick up supplies for Wine & Design. We had a Team Building session that was scheduled to begin at 11:30am.

From there, I navigated the rainy weather and crazy traffic to attend a meeting with a principal looking to bring the Ashlye V. & Tori experience to their school. For thirty minutes I shared the services that I offer with educational trainings and author appearances while they looked at the newest children’s book that was recently released.

Afterwards, I booked it back to my home office to return emails and phone calls. Thank goodness my 11:30 engagement provided lunch because that meant one less thing I had to do. With the time quickly winding down, I had to leave to run a few errands before heading to my next engagement. I used that brief window of time to pick up packages and make a Bank run.

At 4:00 sharp, I arrived at the local Children’s Hospital to join the charter members of the first collegiate chapter of my non-profit organization, The Magic of Learning Foundation. They successfully completed a Books and Bears donation drive on campus collecting over 30 teddy bears for the patients for Christmas. They also collected books that will be donated to other charities in the area.

With six minutes to spare, I ran into the bank at 4:54pm to turn in paperwork and pick up documents needed for my Treasurer report at my 6:00pm board meeting.

Cutting it close for a 5:30pm pick up time to get the girls, my gas light goes on to signal that I will soon be stranded on the side of the road. I ran in the school to grab the girls…before the late fees begins to accumulate…and proceeded to go to the gas station. While in route, my parents called wanting to see the girls. I’m so thankful for my village! It was right around that time that I remembered that the plan of letting them watch my phones during the meeting didn’t work last time due to poor WiFi connection. Dropping them off prior to was very helpful. Off to my meeting I went.

At 8:15pm, the meeting was over and it was time to pick up the girls, get them home, bathed, dressed for bed, and engage in our nightly routine of story time, prayers, songs, FaceTime with Daddy, and tuck them in with hugs and kisses.

Throughout the day, between and sometimes during those engagements, I was answering and returning business calls and responding to the needs of customers.

As I write this post at 9:54pm, I’m preparing to get our clothes ready for tomorrow, do a load of laundry or two, read at least one chapter in my current research book, return a few calls and emails, update social media posting, and get ready for bed. In essence, I will probably be up at least until midnight after the BIG day I had today.

The best part, beginning and ending the day with the two sweetest little girls I know. Their Dad and I work this hard for them and we love every minute.

Ps…I usually don’t do a shirt change for the different engagements, but for the sake of this post, I figured I would fully document the many aspects of the day.

Until next time,

Xoxo
