Surprise…you are taking a flight in 3 hours!

Yes…you read that right! I was running around on a busy Friday afternoon when at 2:30 pm, my husband tells me over the phone to check my email. The request seemed quite odd so I wondered what was wrong that would require being emailed. I quickly clicked on the envelope icon on my phone to see what he was referencing. To my complete surprise, it was a confirmation email from Delta for a flight that departs at 6:12 pm…TONIGHT! Which meant I needed to arrive at the airport by 5:30 pm to board on time. Wait…what?! Excited…yet panicked all at the same time. Why? Let me explain!

The day started with a Muffins with Mom date with my girls in my oldest daughter’s classroom. After dropping them off at school, I then returned home to get some work completed. With the intent of running errands for the rest of the day, I planned a late lunch and worked on assignments for a few hours. At 12:30 pm, I proceeded to run my errands before having to return to the girls’ school at 2:00 pm. The parents hosted a surprise Teacher Appreciation party and my youngest child had a field trip. It’s normal for me to pull triple duty and today was no different. However, I ended up getting stuck in the worse traffic for almost an hour which totally threw me off schedule. So imagine my nerves when I realized that on top of my original to-do list, I had to add packing for a three-day trip on top of it.

“I can do this!”– I said to myself. So, I proceeded to knock-out my list. I managed to surprise my mother with lunch; pick up inventory and supplies and drop them off at the studio along with employee payroll; deliver the teacher gifts to the school (delicious hot fresh donuts), pick up the girls and take them to my parent’s house, meet a fellow board member to retrieve a package, go home and pack two separate suitcases (one for the girls and another for me), pack up my four-legged baby, and call my dad to drop me off at the airport.

Whew…I did it all and made it on time..kinda. That’s another story for another post.

Up up and away…on a first class flight for a surprise trip to sunny side Florida!

Stay tuned for a recap of Mother’s Day weekend!

Until next time,

Xoxo
