Disney Dreams- Summer Vacay Part 2: California Adventures

“Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever!” ~Walt Disney

We take the girls to Disney World and Disneyland every year…by that I mean, we take mommy and the girls get to tag along. Yes, I’m in love with The Mouse and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Why? Well, to me, Mickey Mouse represents just what the above quote states: laughter, imagination, dreams, and I would add to that list magical memories. On top of all of that, it amazes me how the vision of Walt Disney manifested into what families all across the world from various backgrounds travel near and far to experience…absolutely magical! It’s one of the purest things that still exist today for the entire family to enjoy.

Just look at these smiles! Can’t you tell how happy their little hearts were. This was the first time Ariah visited Disneyland and the first time the family went to Disney California Adventure Park. We had such a blast that I’m dedicating an entire blog post about our experiences there.

5 things we enjoyed during our visit:

  • Of course the first thing I will say is that you still get to see THE MOUSE! The lines are short, you don’t feel rushed during your meet and greet and while taking the perfect family photo, it’s more intimate, and he comes around several times in various settings. Above was the family meet-and-greet. Below is the train ride around the theme park and another at the live show performance appearance. Mommy was uber excited about this! The girls were too. 🙂

  • The Disney Junior Dance Party and character meet and greet was at the top of Alana’s list. Disney Jr. is the channel that the girls watch the most when they watch TV on the weekends and they love the characters. This theme park focused on those little learners and have activities designed specifically for the birth to five age group. This summer, they launched their live production featuring “Mickey and the Roadster Racers”, “Sophia the First“, “The Lion Guard“, and the girls absolute favorite “Doc McStuffins“! They had live DJ’s, interactive technology, vibrant colors, and tons of fun for the kiddos…and parents…to be entertained by. The girls had so much fun…we caught this show twice!
  • “Let it go” is a popular song nestled in the minds and hearts of kids all over the nation including my little lady bug. When she found out that there would be a “Frozen” movie themed live show, she was ecstatic! She followed along, laughed at punchlines, and sung every song.

  • The rides were perfect for this age group, the wait time was quick, and the entire family could enjoy them together. The majority of them were dedicated to the younger attendees and of course centered around the themes of movies. Alana’s favorite area was “A Bug’s Land“.
  • To add to the great time of the day, you had surprise visits from characters along the boulevard do pop-up concerts, movie scenes, dance performances and meet and greets with fans. It definitely added to the fun overload!

I hope you all have an amazing time during your family adventure at one of the Disney theme parks the next time you are in California. Another blog soon to come of what we did this year at Disney World and last year at Disneyland…after the summer recap is complete.

Each link takes you to the character page with different engaging activities. Have fun doing them with your kiddos. Another post of Alana’s DIY projects and Doc McStuffin’s themed 3rd birthday party will be added as well.
