Girls Getaway- Ballantyne Hotel, Resort and Spa (Part 1)

Girls just wanna have fun! My Bestie and I became friends fourteen years ago as undergrads. It was much easier back then to plan road trips and girls night out events. Now, we are over a hundred miles apart, she’s a wife and mom of three, and we both get super busy with our demanding lives of having husbands with frequent travel schedules, children with extra curricular activities, serving our communities and the responsibilities that comes with being career professionals. Needless to say, it’s much more difficult to plan our getaway excursions. Knowing the importance of nurturing our friendship and rejuvenating ourselves, we try our best to plan a quarterly mommy day (even if just for a few hours). This ladies out trip was to the Ballantyne Resort and Spa located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With limited time during this hectic back-to-school season, we needed a place that was centrally located and one that provided a relaxing atmosphere. Since we love visiting spas, we chose this as our destination. We are so glad we made that choice!

When you arrive, you are greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist staff. You are then directed downstairs where a guide is waiting to provide you with your robe, sandals and assign you to a locker. The helpful hostesses then escorts you to the relaxation room. This quaint and cozy room immediately allows you to forget the demands of life. Provided are comfy chairs, light refreshments, fruit infused water and an assortment of beverages, topped with peace and quite between spa services.

Don’t we look refreshed?! After my Swedish massage, manicure and pedicure, we ordered lunch and selected the spa veranda as our dining location. Our food was quickly delivered in the most adorable serving containers. While eating, we took in the beauty of the property over girl talk.

A spa trip isn’t complete without a dip in the jacuzzi which extended the relaxation from the spa services. This indoor pool area provided a private retreat experience. For those who want to soak in the sun while in the water, the outdoor pool and jacuzzi was a highly sought after spot too.

I’m totally relaxed and renewed by the great services provided and the quality time spent with my Bestie. I’m so glad that I broke away from my schedule to have some girls day fun.

To add to the memories of this trip, a few of my sister moms retreated here for the weekend and I enjoyed fellowship time with them this evening. An added bonus, my hubby and kiddos joined me for a mini family fun day. Check out what we did and other family friendly activities available on part two.
