7 Natural Wonders of the World- Grand Canyon Visit

There are seven natural wonders of the world and my family had the pleasure of visiting one of them twice. The Grand Canyon is a part of our summer vacation itinerary when we visit the West Coast. This particular time was extra special as it was our first time going as a new family of four.

The beauty of the Grand Canyon is hard to put in words and impossible to capture in pictures. It’s absolutely breathtaking!! Once you reach the rim and overlook the canyon, you instantly see what makes it a natural wonder. To see something so magnificent and captivating in person will most certainly put you in an instant state of amazement.

During our trip, we walked the rim, discovered facts and monuments on the trail, and took in all of the beauty. To conclude our visit, we went to the gift shop to purchase a children’s book, “Grand Canyon Babies.” to extend the experience for the girls.

Looking to go to the Grand Canyon? Your park pass is good for 7 days of exploration. Here are a few tips to help you plan your trip:

  1. Check the weather and season with the Canyon’s website. This will determine what is offered at that time and what you are able to do during your visit.
  2. Check out the tours- several tour options are available such as helicopter, bike, bus, train, etc.
  3. Plan an activity- there are quite a few activities to do. Some of which includes hiking, boating, mule rides, water sports (rafting), and camping.
  4. Educational Activities- as a certified early childhood and elementary educator, I’m always looking for learning opportunities for the kiddos. This park has several to choose from. In addition to the guided tours, you can participate in the field learning institute, become a park ranger (junior park ranger is available) by completing the seminar program, view the documentaries featured in the theater, enroll in a summer camp or distance learning session, and for the kiddos, explore the park with Sesame Street characters.
  5. Lodging- advanced reservations are needed if you plan to stay onsite at the lodge, village or ranch. Camping is also available in one of four of their grounds. Most of them are open all year and are first-come-first-serve.

Whatever activities you plan, I’m sure your family will take pleasure in your experience at the Grand Canyon.

Happy exploring! Xoxo
