As a child, I always enjoyed going to the State Fair as an annual family activity. It’s fun to continue this tradition and I find that I enjoy it even more so now with my hubby and children. My top 3 fair favorite activities to do with the kiddos includes the farm animals, rides and entertainment, and of course…the delicious food!
Farm- visiting the animals serves as our educational component of the trip. We introduce the types of animals to the girls. We discuss their names, baby names, sounds, natural habitat, and contributions (cows give milk, chickens gives eggs, etc). It’s always fun to see the award winning animals as well.
Rides and Entertainment- catching the shows of the various performers, the exhibits and contests as well as getting on a few rides with the girls is the main part of our experience. This visit, we caught 2 free shows and Alana rode 3 rides. Next year, Ariah will be old enough to join us on a couple. This go round, it was just us two girls while Daddy stayed on duty.
No worries…Daddy got his fun time with the girls too.
Delicious Food- we always plan to do a major meal (either lunch or dinner) while at the fair and we bring our full appetite. This time, we enjoyed pizza, corn dog, French fries, mini-doughnuts, candy apples, and strawberry lemonade. We were completely full and satisfied with our selections. Capturing pics before eating the food proved to be the most difficult part.
When planning your fair trip, be sure to check out the calendar for the special promotions. Usually, there are days where free admission is provided for kids, military, senior citizens, college students, educators, breast cancer awareness, and other promotions. Also, the best concerts with the lowest ticket prices are also available.
Enjoy the fair, festivals, and all Fall has to bring. Xoxo
