Alana picked up her dad’s practice of bringing mommy fresh flowers. Everywhere we go, she finds delight in picking her favorite flower and presenting it to me while saying, “Mommy, here is a flower for you. I just love you so much!”
Though I try to remind her that we can’t make it a habit of picking flowers from other people’s gardens, I can’t help but to beam with the brightest smile on my face when she does. I didn’t realize she was paying close attention to my hubby’s display of love and affection. It touches my heart to see that she is developing characteristics of compassion and care.
Being a wife and mom constantly provides me with precious moments that reminds me to take the time to enjoy the blessing of life. “Smelling the roses” and enjoying the beauty of flowers are one of the things I like to do. Kobie and Alana both provide that opportunity for me regularly.
A few other ways to stop and smell the roses are:
- Enjoy time with family taking trips or playing games
- Read a book for pleasure
- Remember special dates and attend milestone events
- Spend time with friends over lunch or dinner
- Exercise, meditate and pray
- Engage in service activities and acts of kindness
- Take in the beauty of nature
- Be positive, choose happiness and be thankful
- Be present and operate in your purpose
- Stop and smell the roses…literally!
Enjoy the roses! Xoxo ?
