Sometimes days are chaotic and hectic. Today was just that for me. My staff caught me on two different phones assisting a customer on one phone and being assisted by customer service on the other. After getting only 3 hours of sleep, my little ladies woke up not wanting to part from mommy. It’s always hard dropping them off at school on the days where they just want to stay under me. But, unfortunately, duty calls. Changing locations for my business created a long to-do list that I had no choice but to tackle today. The tasks prompted me to have to go to several city business offices, deal with corporate staff, and navigate a lot of red tape…you know, the hurtles you have to go through to get anything done. In the meantime, I had a webinar to participate in, tons of emails to return, errands to run, and commitments to keep. It didn’t make it any better that the officials I met with earlier seemingly made things far more difficult than they needed to be. After saying a prayer, I remembered a poem that my husband once taught me. I then called him and as always, he told me that I was built for this and could handle anything. Whew…was that needed! I managed to get it all done and keep a smile on my face through it all. I wanted to take a moment to share that poem with you.
Special thanks to my village who helps me make it possible.
Dare to be Great!

It Couldn’t Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.
