It’s the second day of summer and it was the perfect day to be lazy, relax and have fun with the family. We were happy to do just that! We spent the day at Neptune Island Waterpark nestled in the quaint town of Hartsville, South Carolina. The weather was beautiful, the staff was great, and the park had so many activities for all ages to be engaged with and entertained by. Our three favorite moments of our visit:
-the lazy river- by far was the best part of the day. It was the largest one we’ve been to, had props to match the pirate theme of the park and provided the opportunity to take a “wet” (with sprinklers) or “dry” (without sprinklers) route along the course. Did I mention I had the best nap ever! It was very fun and relaxing to say the least. But I’m sure you can tell that by these pics.
-the splash pad- watch out world…my eighteen month old is taking over this area! She saw the water sprinklers and just ran right in. With the mini slides, dump pails, and props that released water in intervals, the girls were excited to play games and navigate the mazes while being refreshed by the cool water. By the looks of it, my husband had more fun than the kiddos did. Did I mention that I got drenched by one of the pirate ship wheel dump pails as soon as I sat down?! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
-the attraction- there were so many pros to this site. The distance was only an hour away, it is conveniently located near major stores and restaurants, was manageable in size, family and kid friendly, had activities for every age group birth to senior citizens, promoted safety and had more than enough life guards on duty at all times, was clean, had necessities available for purchase on site, and was consistent with props that echoed the pirate theme throughout the entire park.
We intended to spend two-three hours there but ended up staying almost six hours. We literally had just that much fun! Be sure to check them out the next time you want to family day full of water, fun and relaxation.
Happy summer!
