Yay…I’m so thankful to celebrate the big 35. My hubby calls this milestone officially grown-woman status and I’m just grateful I made it (included in post-Momma I Made It). Of course you know that I celebrate the entire month of March. This year, I celebrated in three parts: with family and friends, my husband and just myself. It made for a memorable month of activities.
The State 20 Under 40 Honoree Reception- it was truly an honor to be recognized as an outstanding young professional who is making an impact in my community. It was great being able to celebrate this accomplishment with my family and even more special taking place the eve of my birthday. Read the full recap of the evening in the 20/40 blog post.
High Tea Party- I enjoyed an afternoon Tea Party at Laura’s Tea Room. This activity was a great opportunity enjoy a longtime fun activity that I’ve always enjoyed with my mother and now my girlfriends. My mom, cousins, friends and I enjoyed a tasty three course experience.
Bowling Party- The brand new bowling boutique lives up to its name and is indeed GRAND. This venue literally has something for everyone. My party was family friendly to allow my children to join in on the celebration. The bowling lanes allowed you to customize the games with kid-friendly themes and assign bumpers to specific players during the game. This made it extremely convenient to keep the kiddos engaged while adults enjoyed themselves as well. The food was delicious and the service was awesome! After bowling, other games such as Jenga, Checkers, puzzles and other activities are available for extended entertainment.
Family and friends dinner- a birthday celebration wouldn’t be complete without dinner at my absolute favorite restaurant- Miyabi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. The food is delicious, the chefs entertain you, the conversation is great, and of course getting up on top of the chair to dance when they play the birthday song is so much fun.
In addition to these fun activities, I had the pleasure of joining a few friends for lunch or dinner throughout the month. The one-on-one time was a special treat.
Stay tuned to Part 2: celebrating with my hubby!!
